Welcome to Beach Lawn House &
the Ismay Suites

Welcome to the Beach Lawn House, the beautiful Mansion house that was originally built in 1860 for Mr Thomas Henry Ismay founder of the Oceanic Steam Navigation Company, more commonly known as the White Star Line.

He purchased the property for only £2,500 on the 27th Dec 1860. The original deeds showing his signature can be seen in the hallway of the main house.
ALL Crews of White Star ships sailing from Liverpool saluted the house as they sailed past it on the River Mersey.

Beach Lawn House was the childhood home for Joseph Bruce Ismay (Bruce) his eldest son, who eventually went on to become the Chairman and Managing Director of the White Star Line. After commissioning the build of RMS Titanic, in 1912, he came to international attention as the highest-ranking White Star official to survive the sinking of the ship for which he was subject to severe criticism.
